Ethnomedicinal plant diversity for gastrointestinal disorders in Kodagu district of Western Ghats

The gastrointestinal tract is one of the most important organs human body and vulnerable to different diseases. traditional culture natural ecosystem Kodagu region have been relatively well conserved. Since orally transmitted knowledge possessed by older generation, it can disappear drastically following their deaths. aim this study was record analyse about treatment digestive system disorders. During our survey 22 species used for disorder were recorded. Interaction with medicinal practitioners tribes information gathered from them revealed that effective healing has resulted usage recorded species. plant parts used, therapeutic formulations, mode administration adopted practised are detailed in present study.
